Abigail Marie: 2008

We had a great time celebrating Abigail's birthday with many friends and family. Theme- Abby Cadabby! Eric and May were in town and that was a special treat for everyone.. We gave her a birthday/Christmas combination gift of a new playset. She is growing up so quickly and truly is becoming a wonderful little princess. Her favorite things to do include: changing her baby doll's diaper (thank you for that special gift from Mimi), having her nails painted by Nanny, putting on Mommie's makeup, taking care of Olivia, looking for moo cows or horsies while we drive, and watching Elmo's World on TV and Mickey's Mouse Playhouse with Daddy at bedtime (thank God for DVR)- Her favorite foods are rice and gravy and chicken and cucumbers from Pop's garden (dessert- hershey kisses from Gramps)- Other favorite's include- her blankie, her Grover, her Sammy-

Hurricane Season

Mother Nature has been hard on Louisiana (and Texas) this hurricane season but all in all we (and the entire Dore family) are counting our blessings. Hurricanes Gustav and Ike allowed the girls to visit with Nanny Pam, Beanie, Aunt Mim, Granny and Pop- (slumber party in Broussard!) and for that for we are very grateful. With our fingers crossed and our prayers strong, Granny and Pop (and Uncle David and Kat) were spared from the flood waters of Ike. However, Todd and Elise received water up to about 4" in their home-- Please keep them in your prayers as they work to repair their damages.

Abby the Explorer

Abby is the great explorer- As you can tell from this video- She is getting into anything not bolted to the ground.

She is growing so much and articulating her words so well. Within the last few weeks she has begun speaking "four word combinations"- to quote a very special MiMi-

She knows her routine. For example, as many of you know my mother has been helping us with the girls each afternoon-- She will pick them up from our sitter and bring them to play at her house for about 1 1/2 hours before Dad and I come in from work. Abigail knows this schedule well. I come thru the door and Gramps is right behind me- Abigail is allowed to have Hershey kisses once Gramps comes home- she heads straight to the refrigerator (where the candy stash resides), opens the frig door and grabs a huge hand full of kisses. She then follows Gramps to his room- returning with a chocolate mouth- TOO PRECIOUS!

Maddox turns 3- Fishing Party

Here are a few pictures from Maddox Moncla's Birthday party! We were all invited to go fishing- Abigail took her fishing pole that Gramps MADE for her. It has pink accents just for his little sweetheart. We had a great time.. as you can tell the cake was incredible. We even got to take home a goldfish- Dorothy (named after Elmo's pet goldfish Dorothy- of course)- Abigail can help in singing "Happy Birthday"- "Happy Day to you, Happy Day to you"--

Big Helper

Abigail is not only a big helper with Baby Olivia- she helps around the house too! After tackling a snowball from Cajun Sno (evident by the red dye on her face from the strawberry syrup), Abigail helped Daddy with the yard work. Yes, her t-shirt says "This is my princess shirt"-
