I AM GOING TO BE A BIG SISTER

Abigail's adventure as a big sister will begin around March 31, 2008.

We are VERY excited and will post ultrasound pictures soon.

10 months

Abigail is growing up so quickly- She is such a little ham- She is cruising furniture, chasing Socks all over of the house, and if you are lucky you can catch her giving away lots of sugar! Favorite word- dada.
Here is a picture of Renee and Abigail the morning of Renee and Zach's wedding.

Introducing Drs Eric and May Thomassee

8 MONTHS- July 2, 2007

Whats new with Abigail?? Abigail is doing really well. We visited with Dr Nalem last week for a well-baby checkup and one shot- she is 20 lbs and 27 inches long. She is growing up so fast and is still in the 75-90 percentile for weight and height... OFF THE CHARTS FOR CUTENESS!!

Abigail received her wings-- well deserved too! We enjoyed our first airplane ride to Nashville. We visited the Vanderbilt campus, went sightseeing throughout Nashville, stayed at the new home of Drs Eric and May, and shared Father's Day in Paducah with the Thomassees. It truly was a special weekend for all of us.. I LOVE MY GREAT GRANDPA~

Milestones: Abigail is sitting up, rolling over, an expert at the army crawl (1st crawl- Nashville, TN) and she is beginning to pull up. She has experienced a few supported steps.. Vocal indeed- babbling, squealing at Mom, laughing at Dad. The Great Explorer- she is into more and more things each day. Socks is starting to realize that he needs to hold close to his toys! She is shaking, banging, and gumming everything in reach. No teeth yet but its close.. She loves sweet potatoes and peas-- This month we will introduce FRUITS (baby food bananas, pears, applesauce)!

She loves to play in the water.. Stay tuned for more pictures from July 4th pool party with the Monclas..

Loving motherhood- Can you tell!

EXCUSE ME, MISS DIVA!!

6 months old.. ALREADY

Abigail had her 6 month check-up on May 1st.. ALL IS WELL!! We have a very happy and healthy little girl.. growing little girl- 18 lbs and 26 inches!!

We started adding rice cereal into her bottles during the day (11am and 3pm)-- and once a day we are eating rice cereal with a spoon (usually around 7:3o pm)-

The first time we tried feeding with a spoon was great. She already puts everything in sight into her mouth- a spoon with cereal was no different. WHAT A FUN TIME FOR ALL THREE OF US.. Of course, a bath was enjoyed thereafter!

We will be starting solid baby food in June.. and plan to share the big event with all of the Dores during our family vacation to Destin, FL. After much thought (can you say "first time mom")-- I think we will start with Squash-- we will see how that goes..

She is sitting up (with little support), picking up toys (and throwing them all over the backseat), and is talking more and more.. She sleeps 10 hours a night (knock on wood) and really doesn't use a pacifier that much. When she is sleepy she sucks her thumb and plays with her hair (Uncle Brian). This week (May 10) she began saying "da-da-da"-- which was an exciting moment for Mark.. Although I argue that there is no word association (we will have to consult Mimi)-- there is no doubt that she truly is DADDY'S LIL GIRL!

All in all, we have been enjoying our time with Mark- we all rejoice during semester breaks!!

WHAT A WONDERFUL WEDDING WEEKEND! APRIL 27-29, 2007
Eric and May's wedding was so incredible. We truly enjoyed our weekend in Natchitoches, LA and at the Church Street Inn. Family and friends from all over the country travelled to be with us. How blessed we are to be surrounded and supported by so many loved ones! Thank you to everyone who helped to make the weekend so memorable. To those who couldn't join us, here is a little run down- On Friday night, we hosted the rehearsal dinner at The Landing which was right on the Cane River. Afterwards, we found our way to Mama's and Papa's Oyster Bar and Restaurant for a few more drinks (and a few more memories). After a relaxing day at a salon and on the golf course, we made our way to the church. The wedding ceremony was Sat evening at Immaculate Conception Church (Father Wayne spent the weekend with us which was a TREAT!). The reception was a trolley ride away at The Ducournau, a beautiful restaurant and an excellent location for a Scott/Thomassee PARTY! Okay, so words do not capture how much fun we had.. STAY TUNED FOR PICTURES COMING SOON!

April 2007: Easter

This Easter weekend was so WONDERFUL! We spent Good Friday in Delcambre, Holy Saturday with Gramps and Mimi in Lafayette and Sunday at Todd and Elise's and in Breaux Bridge at Granny's. Everyone was so generous and Abby received many Easter Bunny surprises. The weekend was a sure testament to how blessed we are-- Praise God for His goodness-

April 2, 2007: Big News

In March, we will be traveling to Shreveport for Parrain and Aunt May May's Match Day (3/15) and their couples wedding shower (3/17). We will be visiting Natchitoches for Aunt May May's bridal shower (3/25). We all know that April will bring the Easter Bunny and E's wedding (4/28). May brings the end of the semester for Daddy (yippee) and med school graduation (5/28)-- In June, Abby gets to try out her pink bathing suit that GrandNanny Ju gave her for Christmas as we vacation on the beaches of Destin with the whole Dore crew! Then we get to party down again with the Angelles at Renee's wedding in July.

Growing!

March 8, 2006- 4 months old already! Abigail is growing fast- She is 25 1/2 inches and currently weighs 16 lbs. She is cooing and "talking" all the time! She is smiling from her first moments awake until she goes to sleep. She might look like Daddy but there is definitely a little of Mommy shining through. She has begun to laugh out loud and will experience a giggle attack every once in awhile (especially with Nanny Pam). She is holding her toys, and our clothes. Her dexterity is increasing each day. Play time includes lots of fun with her Baby Einstein activity gym, jammin to music with Ms Mary each morning, tummy time and story time with MiMi (Sharon) each afternoon, strolling with Gramps (Phillip), being silly and laughing at Daddy, singing in French with Granny (Janice)- once that is all done- she is ready for a nap on Pop's (George) chest. She is indeed a joy-- plus- she has been sleeping through the night for 2 months now. We are a little bias- but she is beautiful, a bundle of joy and well-behaved! Did we mention, she was a doll for Granny and Pop during her first sleep over (2 weekends ago)- And she had a great time with Uncle Todd, Aunt Elise, Callie, Michael and Molly last Saturday night. They plan to kidnap her again soon. I have promised to share!

My first play date

Feb 2006- 3 3/4 months old.

I have had a few play dates with Lillie Moncla and of course, I play all day with the other kids at Ms Mary's.. This was my first official play date with Ellie Lynn Guilliot (5 months old) and Drew Sliman (4 months old)..

Christmas 2006

Christmas Day 2006- We enjoyed time in Delcambre and in Breaux Bridge- Abigail was indeed the belle of the ball as many family members met her for the first time. Santa was very generous this year- someone was a good little girl.

Abigail enjoys playing with her friend, Lillie Elizabeth Moncla.. Although you cannot tell- Lillie is actually 8 weeks older than Abby.

Let the children come to me- Mark 10:14

On Saturday, December 16, 2006 Abigail was baptised at Our Lady of the Lake Church in Erath, Louisiana. Father Wayne officiated a beautiful ceremony. We celebrated with friends and family over lunch at Willie's new restaurant in Abbeville. What a great chef! The gown Abigail wore has been used for many generations. Angie's grandfather first wore it to be baptised over 75 years ago.

IT'S A GIRL!
